What a beautiful way to spend an evening.

Liberace and Liza is an inspired blend of two legendary musical icons.
David Saffert, as Liberace, and Jillian Snow, as Liza Minnelli, are backed by an unobtrusive but excellent band that allows the stars to shine. It was great to see music played so skillfully and live .
Both performers are stunningly convincing, bubbling over with humour and capturing the personalities of their characters brilliantly. David’s piano playing is superbly precise, highlighted by a wonderful rendition of Rhapsody in Blue. Jillian completely embodies Liza Minnelli, delivering an energetic and wonderfully physical performance. Both appear in appropriately glittering, dazzling costumes that perfectly suit the occasion.
The show is packed with humour, memorable songs, and plenty of surprises—including a hilarious Spice Girls song, “Wanna Be”performed in true Liberace fashion.
It received a well-deserved standing ovation, and so it should. If you’re looking for an evening of outstanding musicianship, laughter, nostalgia, and sheer entertainment, go and see Liberace and Liza. Like me, you may well find it to be one of the most delightful surprises of the year.
