Randy Edelman Showcase | 12 June 2026

It was another enjoyable visit to the wonderfully intimate Esher Theatre for a special showcase evening featuring Randy Edelman, the acclaimed American musician, producer, composer and conductor.

Randy performed a stripped-back selection of his compositions, accompanying himself solo on piano and giving the audience a rare opportunity to experience his music in its purest form.

Among his many achievements, Edelman is renowned for his film scores for Twins, Ghostbusters II, Beethoven and many other major productions.

As an unexpected bonus, my business partner Nicole and her boyfriend Andy happened to bump into Jasmin and Peter Giles. It transpired that they were both fans of my own band, Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers. (For anyone interested, the band’s story can be found in my book on Amazon.)

The encounter was particularly memorable for me, as Peter Giles was a founding member of the highly melodic progressive rock band Giles, Giles and Fripp, which later evolved into the legendary King Crimson.

All in all, a fascinating evening of great music, remarkable talent and some unexpected connections to rock history.
